The food technologists are responsible to make sure that food products are produced safely, legally to the quality claimed. The food technologists should ensure that the quality of food should meet all the standards and regulations framed by authorities and should be safe for consumption.

Role of a Food Technologist

As a food technologist one should be involved in developing the manufacturing processes and recipes of food and drink products and may also work on existing and newly discovered ingredients to invent new recipes and concepts in an organisation.

Responsibilities of a Food Technologist

As a food technologist one is responsible to:

  • Modify existing products and processes and develop new ones
  • Check and improve safety and quality control procedures in house factories and suppliers factories, from the raw material stage through to the finished product

  • Select raw materials and other ingredients from suppliers

Nutritional Therapist

Nutritional therapists work with individuals to alleviate and prevent illness and disease, as well as to promote good health, by making dietary recommendations.

Role of a Nutritional Therapist

As a nutritional therapist one will be focusing on the belief that there are nutritional and biochemical imbalances in the body that lead to ill health. The nutritional therapists are responsible to take a holistic approach in providing treatment to the patients. They are required to devise them a personalised nutrition and lifestyle to plan and help maintain their well-being.

Responsibilities of a Nutritional Therapist

As a nutritional therapist one is responsible to:

  • Carry out initial consultations on a one-to-one basis with patients to conduct an assessment of their health and get a detailed case history from them
  • Recommend and analyse laboratory tests, which give indications of nutritional imbalances, the functioning of the liver and the digestive system
  • Explain the physiological impact of complex biochemical imbalances and nutritional deficiencies to help your client and answer any questions they may have
  • Agree on a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan, which will include dietary recommendations and may also include a nutritional supplement plan
  • Conduct follow up review meetings to monitor and evaluate patient progress
  • Keep up to date knowledge about the latest development in the field of nutrition therapy

Technical Brewer

Technical Brewer manages the beer-making process. In order to ensure the high quality and consistency of the end product. They are responsible to check the quality of beer in the production units and storage units of the beer manufacturers.

Role of a Technical Brewer

As a technical brewer one is responsible to oversee the brewing process, taking responsibility for raw materials, operatives and technicians, as well as maintaining the safe and effective running of the plant and the machinery.

Responsibilities of a Technical Brewer

As a technical brewer one is needed to:

  • Purchase raw materials, such as hops, yeast and cereal, by making sure that they meet the required quality standards
  • Monitor fermentation and check temperatures and the quality of samples making any necessary production adjustments
  • Accurately record raw materials, production stage timings and quality checks
  • Perform yeast counts and cropping
  • Work with the lab team who carry out further tests to improve products
  • Introduce new and different methods of brewing
  • Find new suppliers and review existing ones
  • Manage sources and staff to meet objectives
  • Ensure the correct storage and stock management of raw materials

Purchasing Executive (Food Products)

The Purchasing executive (food products) is responsible to buy the best quality raw materials and services that are required for production of food items at the most competitive prices to enable a company to operate.

Role of a Purchasing Executive (Food Products)

As a purchasing executive (food products) one will be directly involved in buying raw materials to make a product that the company sells. They are also responsible for marketing and advertising services to promote a company.

Responsibilities of a Purchasing Executive (Food Products)

As a purchasing executive (food products) one is responsible to:

  • Forecast levels of demand for services and products
  • Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
  • Coordinate between suppliers, manufactures, relevant internal departments and customers
