The Supreme Court refused to meddle with the Karnataka government's vaccination requirement for college attendance on Monday, stating that in the "broader national interest, there are some topics which we should not be considering." A bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and Surya Kant dismissed the petition challenging the Karnataka High Court order upholding the state government's July 16, 2021 notification stating that students' teachers and non-teaching staff who have received one dose of vaccine are permitted to attend colleges.

"We will not entertain this," the bench declared. Take your vaccinations and there are some issues that should not be discussed in the public interest." It informed counsel Anas Tanvir, who was representing petitioner Sushma S Aradhya, that the High Court ruling was issued on December 4, 2021, and what the difficulty in getting vaccinated was.

The advocate stated that he believes in Ayurvedic medicine rather than allopathic medicine, and that he wears a mask and follows all COVID guidelines. "There cannot be a vaccination mandate for college attendance," he added. For this statement the court replied that it will not entertain this and dismissed the petition.
