Students from other Boards perform better than CBSE in NEET-UG 2021 Exam

The students from other 13 boards have performed well compared to CBSE board in NEET-UG 2021 Exam. In the total of 8.7 lakhs candidates who have qualified nearly 66.5% are from other boards other than the CBSE that accounts for just 39%. The Rajasthan board took the lion’s share in the top one lakh qualified candidates with 19.8%, while the Odisha secured 14.9%, and CBSE with only 14.5% in the top one lakh students.

Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh have the highest number of candidates in the 1-10,000 rankings. The states of Tamil Nadu, UP, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu have nearly 6,000 candidates who have secured positions in the 1,00,000 rankings of NEET-UG 2021 exam.

The nine states recorded 60% of qualified students and Delhi registered at the highest with 76.6%, then followed by Chandigarh 75%. The states with over one lakh having 50% qualification marks are: Karnataka 57.6%, Kerala 58.9%, Maharashtra 45.9% being the least.

The boards with over 50% qualification are Telangana 63.1%, AMU 84.6%, West Bengal 55%, Mizoram 50.5%, Jammu & Kashmir 56.5%, Haryana 54.8%, Gujarat 58.2%, Goa 52.7%, CISCE 71.7%, CBSE 73.9% and Andhra Pradesh 64.5%.

The boards that registered significant improvement in NEET-UG  2021 performance are Goa, Gujarat and Maharashtra as well as the North-East region except Manipur. The nine boards accounting for over 10% each of the top one lakh qualified candidates are 

  • AMU Board: 28.1%, 
  • Rajasthan Board: 19.2% 
  • Odisha Board: 14.9%
  • CBSE Board: 14.5% 
  • CISCE Board: 14.3% 
  • West Bengal Board: 13.7% 
  • Bihar Board: 10.9%
  • Andhra Pradesh Board: 10.7%
  • Haryana Board: 10.6%

The NTA officials stated that this year there were highest number with 8 transgender candidates, particularly from Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu who have qualified the NEET-UG 2021 exam.
