The Kerala Government became the first state in the country to make NEET UG Exam mandatory for getting admissions to B.Sc Agriculture course in ICAR. The decision will be applicable from this academic year 2022-23.

The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG exam is the national level entrance exam for getting admissions to medical, Dental and AYUSH courses. Kerala becomes the first state to make NEET UG Exam mandatory for getting admission to B.Sc Agriculture.

The students taking up the NEET UG exam have to answer 45 questions, each in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. In the case of AIEEA-UG, students have to answer 50 questions on each of the three topics in the AIEEA-UG exam. While in case of the NEET UG, the students have to just answer 10 out of 15 questions in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology but in the case of the AIEEA-UG exam, the students will not have any option to choose between the questions.

Till last year, the AIEEA-UG exam was required to get admission to B.Sc Agriculture at ICAR Kerala. The students who have qualified the AIEEA-UG would be eligible to get the National Talent Scholarship of Rs 3000 per month. However, from this year, the NEET UG Exam has been made mandatory for getting admission to B.Sc Agriculture at ICAR in Kerala.
