The Hon'ble Karnataka High Court division headed by Justice Alok Aradhe dismissed  the petition filed challenging the allotted  seat in the 2nd  round of counselling in KEA NEET UG 2021.

The decision was taken on the order passed by the Rule 10 of “Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Government Seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules”. According to the rule, the government can cancel the seat selection under these rules for reasons specified that the candidates who have been allotted any medical seat either in the first round (choice 1 & 2) or in the second round are not eligible to participate.

The petition was filed stating that due to a technical error and mistake on his part, the seat in Sapthagiri was blocked. Due to financial reasons, he said he could not pursue the course in that institution.

The KEA authorities rejected the representation stating eligibility criteria and conditions in the information bulletin. They said since the petitioner has been already allotted a seat in the second round, he is not eligible for the mop-up round.

Finally the Hon'ble High Court of Karnataka dismissed the petition filed as null and void and cannot be considered as the candidate has already been alloted seat in the 2nd Round of Counselling.
