Brief about M.Pharm

M.Pharma is a full time 2-year long post graduate course that is divided into 4 semesters. The M.Pharm course will educate the students about design and manufacture of medicines. The main aim of the course is to provide a magnified vision and knowledge of the subjects studied in B.Pharma.

The M.Pharm course trains the students in both theories and practicalities of work which ensures that they are able to understand and cope up with the work in the practical field. The course trains the students with strong analytical skills along with academic qualifications required for it. The students will be developing strong logical thinking and practical problem-solving skills along with excellent decision-making skills.

Eligibility for M.Pharm

• The students who have passed their PUC or 10+ 2 in Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany from recognised board
• The students should have passed B.Pharma course with 50% aggregate from recognised university

Admission Procedure

The students who are interested to pursue M.Pharm can take admissions via two modes

1. Merit Admission Mode

2. Direct Admission Mode

1. Merit Admissions Mode

As the name itself indicates the admission is based on merit. The students looking for merit seats are required to apply for the PGCET entrance exam conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). The students who have qualified PGCET have to undergo counselling in order to get admission to M.Pharma under merit seats quota. The fees for the merit seats are less and are fixed by the government.

2. Direct Admission Mode

The students also have another option of joining M.Pharm course, that is called direct admissions mode. The students can directly take admission to M.Pharma under management quota. The main advantage of this mode is that the students are not required to appear for any entrance exams or undergo any counselling sessions. Another advantage of this mode is that the students can choose their desired colleges and get confirmed admissions in those colleges even before the college starts. The students interested to take direct admissions can contact the educational advisory centres and get information about direct admissions. The fees are slightly higher in direct admissions.
