What is Law?

Law is the principles and regulations established in a community by some authority and applicable to its people, whether in the form of legislation or of customer and policies recognised and enforced by judicial decision.

Law is any written or positive rule or collection of rules prescribed under the authority of the state or nation as by the people in its constitution and controlling influence of such roles. The laws are a set of rules and regulations that are prepared to maintain peace in the society by maintaining the law and order in the society.

Bachelor of Law (LLB) is the 3-years law degree that is divided into 6-semesters and is offered by various universities. The LLB course is considered as prestigious and a lawyer is revered in society as he has the knowledge of laws that are very essential. The course is designed in order to allow the intrinsic understanding and comparison of the Indian Legal System.

The course trains the students on comprehensive understanding of the balance between the legislation, execution and judiciary. The course gives a detailed understanding of the Legal System of India to the students.

Eligibility for LLB

The students who have completed their Bachelor degree in any stream with 45% aggregate from the recognised university are eligible to apply for LLB course.

Admission Procedure

There are two types of admission procedures available for admission to LLB Course. The first one is merit-based and the second one is direct admission.

1. Merit Based Admission

The students interested in taking merit seats are required to appear for entrance exams such as CLAT or LSAT entrance exams. The students who qualify these entrance exams are required to undergo counselling sessions in order to get their admission in different law colleges. All the colleges have merit-seats and students who successfully qualify these entrance exams and counselling sessions are allotted merit seats. The fees for merit seats are fixed by the government.

2. Direct Admission

The students can also get admission to LLB courses by another mode called direct admission. Under this mode of admission the students are given direct admission to their desired colleges under management quota. The main advantage of this mode of admission is that the students are given special privileges, where they are not required to appear for any entrance exams and are even not required to undergo counselling sessions for getting admissions. The second advantage of this mode is that the students can choose their desired colleges and book their seats in advance even before the college starts.
