Naturopathy

The Bachelor of Naturopathy & Yogic Science (BNYS) is a 5.5 years course that can be joined after the completion of PUC or 12th class. The course mainly trains the students with all the elements of naturopathy & yogic sciences. The students will be given in-depth understanding of the traditional medicine and traditional methods of treatments for various diseases. The course also gives an in-depth understanding of Yoga and its application for a healthy lifestyle in the people.

Naturopathy is a form of alternative medicine. It makes the use of principles of natural healing, non-invasive treatment and self-healing. The naturopathy system extensively uses diet control, exercise, massage and herbal medicine.

Yogic Science involves three major elements they are:

• Breath Control
• Simple Meditation
• Asanas (bodily postures)

The Yogic Science trains the students in various areas such as Hatha Yoga, Yoga Practice, Ayurveda, Anatomy and Physiology, Yoga Therapy.

Eligibility for BNYS course

The students who have completed their PUC or 10+2 with PCB or CBZ with 50% aggregate percentage in all the subjects from a recognised board are eligible to apply for Bachelor of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences (BNYS).

The eligible students have to appear for NEET exams in order to get admission to BNYS course.

Admission Procedure

There are two modes of admission procedures for BNYS courses. The first one is Merit based admissions and second one is Direct admissions.

1. Merit Admissions

The first mode of admission is known as merit admission procedure. The students who are interested to join the BNYS degree should mandatorily appear for the NEET entrance exams and undergo counselling to choose their desired colleges for merit seats. The merit seats are allotted to the students according to their rankings and marks obtained by them in their PUC or 10+2 class.

There are two types of counselling for the Bachelor of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences (BNYS) course, they are:

• Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) Counselling

The students who are interested to join government naturopathy & yogic science colleges and other naturopathy & yogic science colleges that are affiliated to the government should undergo the counselling procedures of Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). 

The students interested in merit seats under government quota are required to complete the counselling procedures and join for BNYS courses. The naturopathy & yogic science colleges under the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) are affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). The fees are fixed by the government for merit admissions.

• Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) Counselling

The students who are interested to join the private naturopathy & yogic science colleges and deemed universities that are affiliated to the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) are required to apply for the MCC counselling procedures. The students should qualify the MCC counselling procedures to get admission to their desired private naturopathy & yogic science educational institutions for Bachelor of Naturopathy & Yogic Science (BNYS) programme.

2. Direct Admission

The eligible students who have appeared for NEET exam can also get admission to BNYS programme through another mode known as direct admissions. The students under direct admissions can choose their desired colleges for their study.
