The US Embassy has organised English proficiency training for the teachers of Karnataka to increase the English proficiency for the teachers. Nearly 100 English language teachers are participating in the Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Core Certificate Program (TCCP) according to the statement released by the US Embassy. The certificate programme was organised from the US Embassy in association with Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
The intensive 140-hour programme helps the participants to learn cutting-edge, research-based teaching strategies. After completion of the certification programme, they will be better equipped to guide fellow teachers in creating student-centred, critical thinking classrooms that provide students with the English language proficiency. The US embassy officials further stated that the main idea behind the certification course is to equip the teachers with English proficiency and then help them to teach better English for the children in classes.
