The Hon’ble Supreme Court is likely to hear a plea the “Deferment of NEET PG Exam 2022” on Monday, February 7 according to the court sources. The plea for the postponement of NEET-PG Exam 2022 was filed by six MBBS graduates on 01-02-2022.
The plea was filed to seek the direction to the National Board of Examination (NBE) to postpone the scheduled NEET-PG 2022 Exam that was to be held on March 12th, 2022. The fresh interns are yet to go through procedures like completion of mandatory internship period and many other formalities, or else they will become ineligible for NEET PG Exam 2022. The petitioners claimed that it is impossible for them to complete all these procedures in such a short time span.
The petitioners claimed that the internships of many hundred MBBS graduates got halted due to their duty in tackling COVID-19 pandemic and it may be impossible for them to attend the NEET-PG 2022 exam if they are not able to complete their internship procedures on time.
The petitioners in their plea have also sought an extension of the deadline of completion of internship for the academic year 2021. The apex court recently had only given the order to start the NEET-PG 2021 counselling process that was on hold, due to change in existing reservations for the All-India Quota seats.
The petitioners further claimed in the plea that the announcement of NEET PG 2022 will be impractical now based on all the above factors.
