The Government has set up a seven member committee in an attempt of ending the cutoff marks based on the Class XII board exams for College admissions and a method recommended for “ high quality aptitude test” for undergraduate admission of central universities for the academic year 2021-22.
As per UGC, there are 54 Central Universitiesas of June 2020 and this move will eliminate the need for multiple entrance exams.
National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the computer based common entrance test which is mandatory exam to admission for all central universities.
This will be implemented from 2021-22 academic session, stated by Amit Khare, Secretary of Higher Education.
