Boeing, the US aircraft manufacturer informed that there will be in need of 31,000 pilots and 26,000 mechanics in the aviation sector in the next 20 years. In the upcoming years, the South Asian region is likely to become the fastest-growing aviation market. Salil Gupta, president of Boeing India, said, “Inproportion to India's aviation growth, much focus should be kept on strengthening hard infrastructure, including airports, and critical infrastructure, including pilots." Boeing has already analysed and projected India's air traffic growth to nearly 7 percent by 2040. Meantime, Tata Group-owned Air India placed orders for 470 aircraft with Boeing and Airbus last February.
