The number of Indian students in the United States has increased by over 12% in 2021, while it dropped in China by more than 8% in 2021. The number of students are always more from China and India when it comes to studying abroad. China sent fewer students in the academic year 2021 when compared to academic year 2020, while India sent more students in 2021 when compared to China.

Overall, China continues to top the list of countries sending 348,992 students to the United States. India follows China with 232,851 students. Other major asian countries that send students to the US after China and India are South Korea, Canada, Brazil, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Japan and Mexico.
