In a major move in the medical education system, the NEET PG exam will be replaced by the National Exit Test (NExT). The decision comes after introducing CUET for undergraduate admission in various central universities.
According to the sources, the government has proposed to conduct NExT from the 2023 session. Officials further stated that the NExT will be introduced and it will replace the NEET Exam. He further added that; the NExT exam will be a common test for multiple purposes that is meant to be implemented across the board.
He further added that the national board of examinations in medical sciences is planning to conduct NExT, but as things are in the initial stage, they might outsource the process to a third party. He also added that before implementing the examination on the national level, the NBE is likely to conduct a mock test to help students become familiar with the pattern and make them stress-free.
