The Union Minister for Education Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan launched the “NEP Booklet 2020” with one-year achievements of NEP implementation on August 24th 2021. The “NEP Booklet 2020” was launched to commemorate the one-year implementation of National Education Policy 2020 after one year of its launch. The NEP 2020 was formulated in August 2020 to bring about complete reforms to the Indian Education System after 35 years.
The NEP Booklet was launched by the Union Minister for Education Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan in the virtual event. The minister also applauded the Government of Karnataka for its efforts towards implementation of NEP 2020. The Karnataka State becomes the first state in the country to implement NEP 2020 from the academic year (2021-22).
The Union Education Ministry in addition to the NEP Booklet has also launched many initiatives that includes:

NIPUN Bharat FLN tools and resources on ‘DIKSHA’, which is a separate vertical for FLN resources developed under ‘DIKSHA’ to assist and mentor States/UTs and teachers for implementing NIPUN Bharat

Virtual School of NIOS for Classes 9-12 students for providing them advanced digital learning platforms through virtual live classrooms and virtual labs

Alternate Academic Calendar 2021-22 of NCERT containing a week-wise plan of interesting and challenging activities, with reference to learning outcomes, themes and chapters taken from the syllabus or textbook.

“QR codes” will be available on every page of the NCERT books from the academic year 2021-22
The Education ministry said that the NEP is a philosophical document and it is not about data or numbers. The ministry also expressed that education is not about collecting degrees but to build character and nation through building knowledge and NEP facilitates the deeper understanding of the Indian knowledge system.
The virtual event also witnessed the launch of booklet ‘Priya’, the accessibility booklet developed by NCERT in collaboration with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with disability. The initiative was organised for ingraining the concept and significance of accessibility in children right from their formative years itself as a move towards inclusive education.
As the National Education Policy 2020 envisions a substantial transformation in the entire education system at all stages, the Department of School Education and Literacy took the implementation of the NEP 2020 on a mission mode and has prepared a flexible, interactive, indicative and inclusive NEP implementation plan called ‘SARTHAQ’
The department of education also portrayed nearly around 62 major milestones achieved in the last one year in the event, which was designed to transform the school education sector.
