The Union education minister Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan launched a digital skilling programme initiative on Monday on 6th June 2022 for the students from Class VII to graduation. Nearly 30 crore students will be benefitted by this scheme. The scheme will focus on skilling, reskilling and upskilling students via internships, apprenticeships and employment in the emerging technologies.
The minister further stated that, this is first-ever collaboration on a national scale between the ministry of education, the ministry of skill and affiliated NSDCs, Skill India programmes (National Educational Alliance for Technology) and AICTE. Over 100 technology corporate and manufacturing firms have shown interest in providing free-of-cost emerging technology certifications under this platform.
The minister further added that the government is functioning as a facilitator in creating a workforce for the future as it is the right time to work with a collaborative approach between industry, academia and policy makers. India has to cater to the workforce requirement of the world and technology will enable us to do so.
The minister further called upon tech companies to synergise technology with all Indian languages. He further added that this programme helps us to connect the right candidates with skill trainers and various courses providing expertise on emerging technologies; like artificial intelligence, blockchain, big data, data analytics, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
