The Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on Monday stated that “Digital University is an unprecedented step in India's national education policy as it will end the problem of shortage of seats in the country”. The Prime Minister of India made these remarks in his speech while addressing the plenary session of a webinar by the Education Ministry on the implementation of the announcements made in the Union Budget 2022. The Prime Minister also stated and reminded the audience how ''digital connectivity kept India's education system running in the time of Covid-19 pandemic.''
Further the Prime Minister in his statements described the young generation as the “Future of India” and gave a call to empower the young generation towards making them the “Future leaders of India.” The Prime Minister further stated that the young generation of India will make the country as the future leader of the world. He further stated that empowering today's young generation means empowering India's future.
In his speech the Prime Minister stated that, “A lot of emphasis has been laid on 5 things related to the education sector in Union Budget 2022 like; Universalization of quality education, Skill development, Urban planning and design, Internationalization - world-class foreign universities in India and AVGC- Animation Visual Effects Gaming Comic.”
The Prime Minister further stressed that the Union Budget will help in implementing National Education Policy 2020 at a faster pace across the country. The Prime Minister further said, “The National Digital University” will resolve the problem of shortage of seats in India as there will be unlimited seats that can educate everyone without any seat limitation on the virtual platform
The Prime Minister further stated that education in the mother tongue is related to children's mental development and intellectual development. The move has highlighted that several medical, tech-Edu start-ups have started in many states in local languages. The Prime Minister further added that educational infrastructure facilities such as e-Vidya, One Class One Channel, Digital Labs, Digital University are going to help youths a lot in the future
The officials stated that the Ministry of Education, will be organising the series of webinars on the education and skill sector in coming days. These sessions will be based on different themes of relevance and will witness participation of government officials of various ministries and state governments, industry representatives, skill development organizations, educationists, students and other experts.
The officials further stated that several parallel breakout sessions will be held under the identified themes through these webinars. The brainstorming sessions on action points, broad strategies and timelines for implementation in line with principles of ease of education and focus on harnessing employment opportunities will be identified by the participating teams and will be organised in coming days.
The officials further stated that to facilitate the efficient and speedy implementation of budget announcements, the Government of India is holding a series of webinars across various key sectors. The focus is to have knowledge sharing aspects from the experts of both public and private sectors, academia and industry and identify strategies that are best possible to move forward towards implementation of various issues under different sectors.
