MD General Medicine (Doctor of Medicine in General Medicine)
General medicine covers the treatment and management of a range of long-term illness such as diabetes and respiratory problems along with shorter-term health problems such as acute fever, skin conditions etc. General Medicine also deals with post-hospitalist medicine that provides specialized care to patients in post-acute care facilities whether long term or short-term. 
Once the doctor completes his/her MD General Medicine course, they are subsequently referred as General Physicians. The MD General Medicine doctors basically deal with the diagnosis of non-surgical treatment of the diseases of the internal organs. No candidate shall be admitted to any post graduate degree / diploma course unless the candidate has obtained and produced the eligibility certificate issued by the University.

Candidates seeking admission to MD should mandatorily qualify NEET-PG Exam. The NEET qualified students are required to undergo two types of counselling. 

1.The students seeking admission to medical colleges affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) should undergo the counselling conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

2.The students seeking admission to deemed universities should undergo counselling conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
