The Telangana High Court orders Private MBBS colleges not to collect full 5 years fees

A  student from Warangal, who applied online counseling, filed a writ petition in the high court in July 2018, after hearing the arguments, on January 8, 2020, the Telangana High Court declares it is to be considered illegal as private medical institutions collecting 5 years duration of fees for MBBS course while the actual academic duration is four and half years only.

The bench made it clear that private Medical institutions should collect the full fees for four years only. Remaining six months period, the institutions must collect half the yearly fee only. It also faulted the Telangana Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee ( TAFRC) and the health department for allowing private colleges to maintain an unethical fee structure.
