Engineering has always been a popular choice among many students. It is the dream of every technology loving kid to join an engineering course and find the right career opportunity in the field of technology. Engineering students have ample job opportunities available across different sectors irrespective of the domains.

Some of the job roles available after B.Tech/BE are:

Artificial Intelligence Engineer: Roles and Responsibilities

The AI engineers are responsible for building AI models from scratch and helping the different components of the organisation. The AI engineers are also responsible for building data ingestion and data transformation infrastructure.

The AI engineers are expected to create and manage the AI development process and overall infrastructure of the product. They are responsible for conducting statistical analysis and interpreting the results so that they can guide the organisation's decision-making process.

Basic Qualification: BE/Btech in Artificial Intelligence, BCA in Artificial Intelligence and BSc in Artificial Intelligence etc.

Salary: The salary ranges from 3 lakhs to 5 lakhs per annum

Machine Learning Engineer: Roles and Responsibilities

The Machine Learning Engineers are responsible for performing statistical analysis, fine tuning of test results. Machine learning engineers are also responsible for training and resolving ML systems by working on different frameworks.

They are required to undertake machine learning test experiments and fix the bugs that they come across during their tests. Machine learning engineers are expected to understand and use computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, computability and complexity and computer architecture. They are required to apply machine learning algorithms and libraries.

Basic Qualification: BE/Btech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, BCA in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Salary: The salary ranges from 4 lakhs to 6 lakhs per annum.

Data Scientist: Roles and Responsibilities

The Data Scientists work closely with business stakeholders to understand their goals and determine how data can be used to achieve those goals. They design data modelling processes, create algorithms and predictive models using different AI and ML techniques, to extract the data required for the business needs.

Data scientists are required to collect structured and unstructured data by sourcing missing data from different platforms. They are required to build predictive models by converting and utilising organised data into usable formats. Data scientists are required to generate information and insights from data sets and identify trends and patterns.

Basic Qualification: BE/Btech in Data Science/ Data Analytics, BCA in Data Science/ Data Analytics or Bsc in Data Science/ Data Analytics.

Salary: The salary ranges from 5 lakhs to 7 lakhs per annum.

Genetic Engineer: Roles & Responsibilities

Genetic engineers are responsible for reworking genetic material to make organisms healthier and more efficient. Genetic engineers are required to directly manipulate an organism’s genes, often using molecular tools to rearrange fragments of DNA.

Genetic engineers are responsible for creating, conducting and monitoring experiments using live organisms or biomolecular processes by using engineering techniques. The genetic engineers are expected to use scientific knowledge to follow different methodologies to achieve results.

Basic Qualification: BE/BTech in Genetic Engineering 

Salary Range: 5 lakhs to 7 lakhs per annum.

Aerospace Engineer: Roles and Responsibilities

The aerospace engineers will be working on cutting edge technologies that are related in the aviation sector like in aircraft design, landing gear, aircraft engines, avionics, etc. The aerospace engineers are responsible for researching, designing, maintaining and testing the performance of different types of aircraft. Aerospace engineers are required to apply the principles of science and technology to create aircraft components and support equipment.

The aerospace engineers are expected to resolve issues that arise during the design, development and testing processes. The aerospace engineers are responsible for maintaining aircraft in full operation like regular inspections, maintenance checks, repairs and servicing.

Basic Qualification: BE/BTech in Aerospace Engineering.

Salary Range: 6 lakhs to 7 lakhs per annum.

Automotive Engineer/Automobile: Roles and Responsibilities

The automotive/Automobile engineers design, develop and manufacture vehicles such as cars, motorbikes, buses and trucks and their engineering systems. They use their engineering skills to design new vehicles, new engines that are more efficient and reachable to vehicle lovers.

Automotive/Automobile engineers are responsible for supervising and inspecting the installation and adjustment of mechanical systems in industrial plants. They are responsible for investigating mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems.

Basic Qualification: BE/BTech in Automotive Engineer or Automobile Engineering. 

Salary Range: 5 lakhs to 7 lakhs per annum.

Chemical Engineer: Roles and Responsibilities

The chemical engineers are responsible for developing raw materials into a range of useful chemical products. They will be involved in the design and development of a diverse range of chemical products. They are required to design the plant and equipment configuration that is readily adaptable to suit the product range and technologies.

The chemical engineers are responsible for optimising production by analysing processes and compiling the bottleneck studies. They are expected to research new products from trial through the commercialisation and improve product lines.

Basic Qualification: BE/BTech in Chemical Engineering. 

Salary Range: 6 lakhs to 7 lakhs per annum.
