  • The Computer Tomography (CT) Technologists are responsible for taking detailed cross-sectional images of the internal structures of the human body. 
  • They will be using advanced X-ray technology equipment for obtaining the results.
  • The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists are responsible to handle the equipment properly. 
  • They emit controlled X-Rays to the body of the patients for getting the internal images of the internal organs.
  • The Computer Tomography (CT) Technologists are responsible to prepare the report by analysing the images obtained from the scan reports.

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

  • The B.Sc Medical Imaging Technology students can find ample job opportunities as Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • The Diagnostic medical sonographer combines creativity with the advanced knowledge of human anatomy. 
  • The diagnostic medical sonographer uses the equipment that emits advanced ultrasound waves and tries to construct the images of the human body and the internal organs.
  • The Diagnostic Medical Sonographers use high-frequency sonography to generate the images of the internal structures of the body. 
  • The diagnostic medical sonographers prepare the reports by analysing the restructured images. These images help the doctors to prescribe accurate treatments for the patients.

Mammographer

  • The mammography uses ionizing radiation by using sophisticated mammography equipment. 
  • This equipment will produce the images of the breasts for conducting the tests. The doctors use these images for screening, diagnosis and treatment purposes.
  • The mammographers are responsible to create clear images that can be read by the radiologists, oncologists so that the diagnosis is done accurately. 
  • The doctors prescribe the proper treatments for the patients based on the reports obtained by the mammographers.
  • The mammographers should be capable of calming the patients coming for the mammography equipment. 
  • Since the mammography is a stressful procedure, the mammographers should make the patients comfortable and make them mentally prepared for the mammography procedures.

Nuclear Medicine Technologist

  • The students of B.Sc Medical Imaging Technology can also be hired as Nuclear Medicine Technologists.  
  • The Nuclear Medicine technologists are specialised to handle the sophisticated equipment. 
  • The main responsibility of the Nuclear Medicine Technologists is to create the internal images of the human body organs by using radioactive drugs called radiopharmaceuticals.
  • The nuclear medicine technologists will administer the radiopharmaceuticals into the body of the patients by various methods like oral, inhalation or injections. 
  • These radiopharmaceuticals are targeted towards the specific body organs according to the directions of the physicians. 
  • The radiopharmaceuticals are placed on the targeted area of the patient for getting better images of the particular area. 
  • The nuclear medicine technologists then use sophisticated equipment to emit the controlled radioactive waves to the specific area. The radiopharmaceuticals reflect the radio-waves to create the 3D model image of the specific areas.
  • These images help the doctors to explore the area and identify the exact condition of the ailment and prescribe the medicines accordingly. 
  • The nuclear medicine technologists will normally work with cancer and tumour patients. The nuclear medicine technology is largely associated in treatment of the patients suffering from cancers and tumours.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologists

  • The B.Sc Medical Imaging Technology students are hired as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologists.
  • The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technicians use radio waves and powerful magnets and create images of the body using computers. 
  • The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technologists should have good computer skills and a strong knowledge of the cross-sectional human anatomy.
