Pharmacy is the branch of medicine that deals with the association of drugs and medicine that are given to the patients for a specific disease or ailments. Pharmacy is one of the most accessible health-care professions and is also the most trusted health care profession in the society.
In other words, pharmacy can be defined as a profession of medication experts working to decrease health care cost by promoting improved patient outcomes by helping them to get cured from their diseases with the help of medicines.
Pharmacy field is one of the most emerging fields in society and has abundant job opportunities with good career growth. The main aim of the pharmacy field is to develop or invent drugs for diseases that are creating havoc in human life. So, pharmacy is the most respected field in the job markets.
Brief about M.Pharm
M.Pharma is a full time 2-year long post graduate course that is divided into 4 semesters. The M.Pharm course will educate the students about design and manufacture of medicines. The course takes consideration of all the facets of processes of drug making from new chemical entities. The main aim of the course is to provide a magnified vision and knowledge of the subjects studied in B.Pharma.
The M.Pharm course trains the students in both theories and practicalities of work which ensures that they are able to understand and cope up with the work in the practical field. The course trains the students with strong analytical skills along with academic qualifications required for it. The students will be developing strong logical thinking and practical problem-solving skills along with excellent decision-making skills.
Eligibility for M.Pharm
- The students who have passed their PUC or 10+ 2 in Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany from recognised board
- The students should have passed B.Pharma course with 50% aggregate from recognised university

1. Merit Admissions Mode
As the name itself indicates the admission is based on merit. The students looking for merit seats are required to apply for the PGCET entrance exam conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). The students who have qualified PGCET have to undergo counselling in order to get admission to M.Pharma under merit seats quota. The fees for the merit seats are less and are fixed by the government.
