Few Lines about Master of Physiotherapy (MPT)
Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) is a 2-year post graduate programme that is divided into 4- semesters. The course lays more emphasis on the techniques including both modern techniques and natural ones. The course is the advanced study of physiotherapy that deals with various healthcare aspects like improving muscle strength, operations, bone strength etc.
The course allows you to gain both theoretical and practical knowledge along with an experience in the field of physiotherapy. The course curriculum of MPT allows you to gain a strong hold of physiotherapy aspects in various fields.
Eligibility for Master of Physiotherapy (MPT)
- The students who have passed their PUC or 10+ 2 in Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany from recognised board
- The students who have passed Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) with 50% aggregate from recognised university
Admission Procedure
The students who are interested to pursue Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) can take admissions via two modes
1. Merit Admission Mode
2. Direct Admission Mode

1. Merit Admissions Mode
As the name itself indicates the admission is based on merit. The students looking for merit seats are required to apply for the PGCET entrance exam conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). The students who have qualified PGCET have to undergo counselling in order to get admission to Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) under merit seats quota. The fees for the merit seats are less and are fixed by the government.
2. Direct Admission Mode
The students also have another option of joining the Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) course, that is called direct admissions mode. The students can directly take admission to MPT under management quota. The main advantage of this mode is that the students are not required to appear for any entrance exams or undergo any counselling sessions. Another advantage of this mode is that the students can choose their desired colleges and get confirmed admissions in those colleges even before the college starts. The students interested to take direct admissions can contact the educational advisory centres and get information about direct admissions.
