Few lines about Industrial Engineering and Management
The industrial engineering and management are an engineering stream that is related to management of industrial processes. The focus of industrial engineering is how to improve processes or design things that are more efficient and waste less money, time, raw resources, man power and energy while following safety standards and regulations. Industrial engineering and engineering management is concerned with the design, improvement, installation and management of integrated systems of people, material and equipment.
Brief Introduction about B.Tech/BE Industrial Engineering & Management
The B.Tech/BE Industrial Engineering & Management is an undergraduate course that is divided into 8-semesters. The course is related to understanding, development and implementation of systems involving human beings and other resources. In this course, students are taught various methods to manage and optimise the use of available resources.
The main objective of the course is to perform in the fields of design, R&D section, manufacturing, operations and services. Industrial engineers are to reduce the waste & improve performance. They have to achieve the end product with no errors & study the product requirements more carefully to give the best result. The course covers various topics like product design and development, work systems, logistics, production planning and inventory control, safety, quality control and maintenance, operation research, operation management, logistics process engineering.
Eligibility for B.Tech/BE
The students who have passed PUC or 10+2 with a science background can join B.Tech/BE courses. The students interested in joining B.Tech/BE courses are required to qualify competitive exams like CET/COMED-K/JEE with high marks in order to get merit seats in various colleges.
Admission Procedures
The students with relevant qualifications can join B.Tech/BE courses by two modes. The first one is Merit based admission and the second one is Direct admission.
Let’s discuss in detail
Merit Admission
The students who are interested to join B.Tech/BE Industrial Engineering & Management degree should mandatorily appear for CET/COMED-K/JEE or institutional-based entrance exams and undergo counselling to choose their desired colleges for merit seats. The engineering college allotts the merit seats to the students according to their rankings and marks obtained by them in their entrance exams and marks scored in PUC or 10+2.
