What is B.Sc Anaesthesia?
The B.Sc Anaesthesia course is the 3-year degree programme that can be chosen soon after the completion of the PUC/12th or equivalent. The students should have studied any of the three subjects from the following: Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Chemistry, Zoology, Botany in their PUC/12th /or equivalent with a minimum 45% aggregate in all the subjects.
The B.Sc Anaesthesia course is opted by the students who are interested to learn about anaesthesia and its components. The course equips the students with the techniques involved in anaesthesia administration, types of anaesthesia agents and also ensures them to closely monitor the patients under anaesthesia influence. The B.Sc Anaesthesia course helps the students to gain in-depth knowledge of the types of the anaesthesia equipment, types of anaesthesia agents, the techniques involved in administering the anaesthesia to the patients.
Roles of the B.Sc Anaesthesia students
The B.Sc anaesthesia students are required to perform multiple roles at a given point of time. They are required to assess the patient’s condition for anaesthesia administration and give them the correct amounts and dosage of the anaesthesia according to the patient’s conditions.
The B.Sc anaesthesia course also trains the students with in-depth knowledge of the anaesthesia equipment that has to be used for the patients. The students of B.Sc anaesthesia will also gain knowledge of the correct anaesthesia equipment for the specific patient. The B.Sc anaesthesia students will be learning about various subjects like fundamentals of the operation theatres, emergency wards, intensive care units (ICU), crucial cardiac-care units (CCU), trauma care centres. The students of B.Sc Anaesthesia will also understand the real-time monitoring of the patients that are under the influence of anaesthesia. The B.Sc anaesthesia students will be assisting the doctors and surgeons in operation theatres and emergency wards.
