Music is a collection of coordinated sound or sounds. Making music is the process of putting sounds and tones in an order, often combining them to create a unified composition. People who make music creatively organise sounds for a desired result like Beethoven symphony or one of duke Ellington’s jazz songs. Music is made of sounds, vibrations and silent moments and it doesn’t always have to be pleasant or pretty. It can be used to convey a whole range of experiences, environments and emotions.
Music is a form of art, an expression of emotions through harmonic frequencies. Music is also a form of entertainment that puts sounds together in a way that people like to find it interesting or dance to. Most music includes people singing with their voices or playing musical instruments such as piano, guitar, drums or violin.
Brief description of BA Music Course
BA Music is a 3-years undergraduate course that is divided into 6-semesters. The music comprises a combination of vocal music, instrumental music and various dance forms. The course aims to build the foundation in music literature and history in the students. The course gives a detailed understanding of the music and its techniques in the students. The course enables the students to get trained on musical notes in various musical instruments and enable them to get a grip on the music and its variations.
Eligibility for BA Music
The students who have completed their PUC or 10+2 in any stream from recognised board are eligible to apply for BA Music course
Admission Procedures
The eligible students can take admission to BA Music course by two modes of admission. The first one is merit-based admission and second one is direct admission.
1. Merit-Based Admission
There are many reputed colleges and universities that conduct institution-based entrance exams for admission to BA Music, such mode of admission is called merit-based admission. The colleges have limited number of merit-seats and entrance exams are conducted for these merit-seats to select the deserving students. The main idea for institution-based entrance exams is to select the serious candidates from the non-serious ones. The successfully qualified students are then allotted merit-seats. The fees are also nominal for merit-seats.
2. Direct Admission
The students can also take admission to BA Music by another mode called as direct admission. Under this mode of admission, the students are given direct admission to their desired colleges through direct admission under management quota. The main advantage of this mode is that the students are not required to appear for any institution-based entrance exams. Another advantage is that the students can get admission to their desired colleges by booking their seats in advance even before the colleges start.
