Introduction
The ‘PG Scholarship for University Rank Holders’ (1st and 2nd rank holders)’ is awarded for the mentioned rank holders from graduation. The main aim of this scholarship is to encourage the meritorious students to take up post graduation courses in their desired relevant subjects. The students with this scholarship can pursue their post graduation in any institute across the country that is recognised by UGC.
Funding
The ‘PG Scholarship for University Rank Holders’ scheme is 100% completely funded by MHRD and implemented by UGC.
Availability
Every year nearly 3,000 fresh scholarships will awarded for all the meritorious students
Eligibility
- The scholarship is available to the student for the first PG Degree only.
- The age limit for the students is 30 years at the time of admission in PG course.
Duration
- After selection, the awardees will be paid a scholarship on an annual basis for 2 years.
- The scholarship granted under the scheme will be kept renewed during the period of postgraduate course subject to good conduct and maintenance of prescribed attendance.
Benefits
- A fellowship amount of Rs.3,100/month for a period of 2 years only i.e. full duration of a PG course.
- No other additional grant will be payable for hostel charges and medical charges etc.
- The student who is awarded this scholarship will not be debarred from accepting any other scholarships.
Mode of Application
Applications will be invited once in a year on the National Scholarship Portal of the Government of India. Short notification will also be uploaded on the UGC website. It is mandatory for all students to apply online on the website i.e. www.scholarships.gov.in.
Documents Required
- The degree completion certificate and marksheet
- Certificate issued by the Director/Principal/Head of the Institute.
- Tuition fee receipt
- Certificate issued by the government official not less than the rank of Tahsildar
- AADHAR seeded Bank Pass Book in the name of the student indicating Account number, IFSC code and photograph
- AADHAR Card
- Declaration by the parents duly signed stating that the information provided about their child is correct and that they will refund the scholarship amount, if found false at any stage
