The Post Matric Scholarship Scheme is awarded to the students of the minority communities by the Ministry of Minority Affairs Government of India. The scholarship provides financial assistance for the students to take up their PUC/ 10+2 / Class XI and Class XII studies. The students with 50% aggregate marks in their Class X are eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship is awarded for all the eligible minority students studying in the government or private higher secondary school/college/university, that also includes the residential institutes of the Government and also the eligible private institutes notified by the State Government/Union Territory Administration concerned across the country.

 Funding

The Post Matric scholarship scheme is 100% funded by the Ministry of Minority Affairs Government of India.

Availability

 Every year a total of 5 Lakh scholarships are distributed across the country that includes both fresh scholarships and scholarship renewals.

Eligibility

  • The Post Matric scholarship is awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks in their Class X examinations and the annual income of their parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2 Lakh.
  • Category - Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jain and Zoroastrians (Parsis)

Duration

The scholarships shall be provided for the entire duration from Class XI to Class XII for the eligible students.

Benefits

  • The Scholarships will be available to the students of minority communities studying in Class XI to Class XII 
  • The scholarship, once awarded can be renewed every academic year by producing the certificate of secured 50% marks in the previous year’s examination (provided the students pursues the same course and same Institute/School).
  • 30% scholarship is reserved for girl students of each minority community in a State/UT which is transferable to male students of that community in case of non-availability of female students in that community in the concerned State/UT.

Mode of Application

The eligible students have to apply for this scholarship scheme by enrolling in the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). The scheme is implemented through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and It is mandatory for all students to apply online on the website i.e. www.scholarships.gov.in.

 Documents Required

  • The marksheet of 50% marks secured in the Class X exam
  • Annual family Income Certificate for the preceding financial year in the prescribed format issued by not below the rank of Tahsildar
  • Caste Certificate issued by the official not below the rank of Tahsildar
  • Certificate issued by the Director/Principal/Head of the Institute.
  • Tuition fee receipt.
  • AADHAR seeded Bank Pass Book in the name of the student indicating Account number, IFSC code and photograph
  • AADHAR Card
  • Declaration by parents duly signed stating that the information provided about their child is correct and that they will refund the scholarship amount, if found false at any stage
