In order to encourage the development of technical education in India AICTE offers ‘Post Graduate Scholarship Scheme for eligible students. The ‘Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme’ is given to all qualified and eligible students who are admitted to AICTE approved programs across the country. The students of Master of Engineering (ME), Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Architecture (M. Arch), and Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharma) courses in AICTE approved Institutions and AICTE approved institutes and Universities.
Introduction
The ‘Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme’ is primarily given to all the eligible students in order to encourage them to take up postgraduate studies in AICTE approved institutes and universities. This scholarship is given to provide assistance for the educational advancement of students pursuing postgraduate degrees and it is an attempt to give all the bright students an opportunity to extend their technical studies and become successful in the future. The scholarship is given for empowering the technical education by AICTE.
Funding
The Postgraduate Scholarship is 100% funded by the All-India Council of Technical Education (AICTE)
Availability
Every year the ‘Postgraduate Scholarships’ provided for all the eligible students taking admission to postgraduate courses in all the AICTE approved Institutions and universities across the country.
Eligibility
- The students should have qualified full time GATE/GPAT exam
- The family income from all sources should not be more than Rs. 8 Lakhs per annum
- A valid income certificate issued by the State/ UT Government needs to be enclosed
Duration
The scholarships shall be provided for the entire postgraduate course with yearly renewal at every academic year.
Benefits
- Rs 12,400 per month is given to the eligible postgraduate students studying Master of Engineering, Master of Technology, Master of Architecture or Master of Pharmacy programmes in AICTE approved institutes and universities
- The scholarship will be renewed every year until the completion of the course. The scheme can be renewed every year through the National Scholarship Portal by submitting a passing certificate/ marksheet along with a letter from the Head of the Institution on the online portal.
Mode of Application
The students who have qualified full-time GATE/GPAT exam and also fulfilling the eligibility criteria are required to apply online on National Scholarship Portal (NSP) after initiation of application process and notice to be published on AICTE website.
Documents Required
- GATE/GPAT Score Card
- Mark Sheet of Class X/XII/equivalent as applicable.
- Annual family Income Certificate for the preceding financial year in the prescribed format issued by not below the rank of Tahsildar.
- Admission Letter issued by Directorate of Technical Education for the admission in Diploma/Degree course.
- Certificate issued by the Director/Principal/Head of the Institute.
- Tuition fee receipt.
- AADHAR seeded Bank Pass Book in the name of the student indicating Account number, IFSC code and photograph
- Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC Category.
- AADHAR Card
- Declaration by parents duly signed stating that the information provided about their child is correct and that they will refund the scholarship amount, if found false at any stage.
