The Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan will launch the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) mission paper on April 29, 2022 across the country through a virtual event. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 calls for the creation of National Curriculum Frameworks (NCFs) in four areas: Schooling, Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE); teacher education, and adult education.
The four curriculum frameworks and 25 themes are based on the NEP, 2020 perspectives that are divided into three categories of curriculum and pedagogy, cross-cutting problems, and other major areas of NEP, 2020. The NCF mandates further emphasis on systemic changes and reforms to provide inputs for the creation of these.
The mandate paper outlines the NCF's development process, as well as its expected structure, and aims at the implementation of NEP 2020's key concepts that will guide the creation of the four NCFs. The NCF is being developed through a collaborative and consultative process at the district level and gradually progresses to the state level and to the national level. The NCF mandate document includes the 'Guidelines for position papers for the creation of the national curriculum framework.'
The minister further added that with the support of a tech platform and mobile app, the full curricular framework process is done paperlessly, with extensive interaction at the school, district, and state levels.
