The Karnataka Government announced that the schools will be reopened for Classes 6th to Class 8th from September 6th 2021 in some parts of Karnataka.  The schools from classes 9th to 12th had already reopened with 50% occupancy in different parts of Karnataka and the same rules will be implemented in the schools even for 6th to 8th classes. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka Basavaraj Bommai announced it based on the recommendation of the Expert Committee after analysing the Covid 19 situation in Karnataka.

The CM further stated that schools in the Kerala bordering districts of Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada will remain closed and the classes will continue online until further notice. Due to the increase in the Covid 19 positive rates in Kerala, these restrictions continue to be in place in Kerala bordering districts.

The CM strictly warned that all the schools have to function strictly according to the Covid 19 SOPs and failing the same will attract disciplinary action against the school authorities.

  3. The schools will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday as the authorities will undertake the sanitization process on these two days.
