The Higher Education Minister Government of Karnataka Dr C.N. Ashwath Narayan, stated that the education sector across the world has demonstrated tremendous adaptability due to digital transformation. He also stated that the education sector is adopting new avenues of teaching and learning, due to mass adaptation of digital technology
The minister made this statement in the job fair event organised by the “Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Government of Karnataka” in association with the “Poojya Doddappa Appa (PDA) Engineering College in Kalaburgi” on Saturday.
The minister Dr. Narayan further said that the state government will be introducing various initiatives like market-oriented, skill-enhancing courses, etc in the academics to ensure that the students will have academic qualification and also skill-enhancement programmes to develop the skill set in the students. The minister further added that these initiatives are launched to make Karnataka as “Unemployment Free State” in the next five years.
The minister also stated that in recent years, skill development had taken the lead over academic qualification. So, to meet the industry standards, the government is focusing more on skill development among the youth to make them employable.
The minister further said that “The Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC)” is providing free training for 31,000 students across the State. The main focus under this initiative is to train the youths and make them employable and also accelerate the socio-economic development of the region. The Minister also said the “Government Tool Room and Training Centre (GTTC)” in Koppal and Yadgir districts will be getting “English language labs” to help students to develop communication skills and drive them towards success in the global workplace.
