NEET PG Exam 2022 Postponed

The Union Health Ministry has postponed the National eligibility cum entrance test-post graduation, 2022 (NEET-PG) by six to eight weeks following requests from many MBBS graduates, medical doctors and college authorities. The NBE officials stated that the decision to postpone the NEET-PG 2022 exam was taken by taking many factors into consideration. 

The officials stated that some of the factors such as; the clashing of NEET-UG 2021 counselling dates with the NEET-PG 2022 Exam dates, the shorter timeframe, Covid 19 related postings for the MBBS doctors etc were considered to postpone the NEET-PG 2022 Exam.

The experts stated that many MBBS graduates were not able to take up internships as their internships were yet to be declared or else, they will become ineligible for NEET-PG 2022 Exam. Many MBBS graduates were posted for Covid 19 duties and they were unable to pursue their internships was one of the major concerns for the postponement of the NEET-PG Exam 2022. The experts also stated that internships will be conducted by august every year in normal times, but there has been a mismatch in the internship schedule due to pandemic restrictions. So, it is not advisable to conduct the NEET-PG 2022 exams as per the schedule. Based on these factors many MBBS graduates requested the NBE & Health Ministry, Union Government to postpone the NEET-PG 2022 exam. 

Based on the consideration of the different factors mentioned above, the officials from Union Health Ministry & NBE confirmed that the NEET-PG 2022 exam that was scheduled on March 12th 2022, will be postponed by six to eight weeks. The new schedule will be announced shortly on the official website.
