The minister for higher education Government of Karnataka Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan stated that the ministry of higher education has taken many steps to align the curriculum of various courses with National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) from this academic year 2021-22.
The minister made this statement at the job fair organised by the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC), department of skill development, entrepreneurship and livelihood and Dakshina Kannada district administration in association with AJ Institute of Engineering and Technology. The minister further stated that the technology and infrastructure have been upgraded at 150 government industrial training institutes (ITIs) in the state at a cost of Rs 5,000 crore.
According to the minister, the steps have been taken to impart skill-oriented training to the youth based on the requirements of industries in an ecosystem that will be developed for the industries under the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KEDM). The minister further added that many efforts will be made to promote gaming industries in Mangalore to make youth productive by employability by enhancing their skills.
The ministry officials further stated that there over 5,000 job opportunities are available at the job fair and more than 6,000 students have registered. Nearly seven lakhs jobs are available in the field of cyber security, artificial intelligence, IoT and cloud application according to the officials of KEDM.
