The Higher Education Council of Karnataka Government in collaboration with International Skill Development Council (ISDC) UK to host the state's first National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 Conclave. The event will be held from November 13th 2021 in Bengaluru.
According to the official statement the “NEP 2020 Conclave” will witness eminent dignitaries from different academia that includes Chancellors, Vice Chancellors, Registrars and Directors from all the universities of India and abroad. The NEP 2020 conclave will also host many educationists, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and dignitaries from the corporate sector.
Mr. Tom M. Joseph, Executive Director, Strategy and Development, ISDC, the UK, stated that, "India is a young nation with a rich demographic dividend. The past two decades, the country has catapulted to being one of the thriving knowledge economies, owing to its IT and consumer led growth”.
Mr Tom M Joseph also stated that “The recently announced National Education Policy 2020 can lead an orbital shift with its focus on transforming the education sector through investments into various areas of skill development including project-based learning, experiential learning, service-learning and vocational training."
Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, Minister for higher education, Government of Karnataka stated that “Karnataka being at the forefront of innovation and skill development, continues to lead the nation into the next phase of building a robust knowledge economy”.
The minister also stated that “The NEP Conclave 2021 is first of its kind in the state after the implementation of NEP 2020 policy and is a step towards achieving vibrant, equitable and empowering education and skill development infrastructure in the state”.
