The Health Minister of Karnataka  Dr. K Sudhakar announced that the Karnataka government will help 700 medical students, who returned to the state from war-torn Ukraine, continue their education in 60 medical colleges. The minister, however, clarified that the students will not be officially absorbed into the colleges and notably, there will be no additional fee charged from the students.

The decision was taken to support all the medical students from Karnataka who went to Ukraine for their MBBS education. Due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, all the Indian Medical students were evacuated and were brought back to India under “Operation Ganga”.

To help these students who were in uncertainty due to war in Ukraine, the Karnataka Government allowed all the 700 students from Karnataka to continue their studies in 60 medical colleges across the state.
