The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2021 yesterday on 1st November 2021.
According to the NTA sources three candidates: Mrinal Kutteri from Telangana, Tanmay Gupta from Delhi and Kartika G Nair from Maharashtra made it to the top ranks with a score of 720 marks with a tie. The NTA further ensured that the tie breaking formula will be applied at the counselling stage for the three toppers.
Jashan Chhabra with a score of 715 and Meghan H K with a score of 715 from Karnataka marked their positions in the List of Top 20 candidates announced by NTA. The official announcement from NTA showed that nearly fifteen candidates were identified for using unfair means during the exam and their results have been cancelled
The NTA announced the NEET-UG 2021 results after the Supreme Court vacated the stay given to the petition filed in Bombay High Court on Thursday 28th October 2021 and directed the agency to announce NEET-UG 2021 results.
The NTA had released the answer key of NEET-UG 2021 on October 15th 2021 and the last date to raise objections for the released answer keys was October 17th, 2021. The NTA conducted the NEET-UG 2021 on September 12th in pen and paper mode (Offline) in 13 languages as a uniform entrance examination for getting admission to MBBS/BDS/AYUSH courses in the colleges recognised by MCI/DCI/CCIM respectively across India.
The NTA stated that nearly 16 Lakhs candidates appeared for NEET-UG 2021 Entrance exam and it was the highest number in years since its inception. The NTA officials also stated that according to the NEET UG 2021 registration data there has been a significant increase in the number of registrations for NEET -UG 2021 in the last five years.
According to the NTA officials the NEET-UG 2021 exam was held at 3,682 centres in 202 cities involving 9,548 centre superintendents/deputy superintendents, 5,615 observers, 2,69,378 invigilators and 220 city coordinators strictly adhering to the Covid 19 guidelines.
