As per the latest data from the Indian Embassy at Kiev, there are nearly about 18,000 Indian students in Ukraine pursuing medical or engineering courses. The officials stated that India is keenly following developments in Ukraine as tensions continue to escalate between Ukraine and Russia. The officials further clarified that the Indian Embassy in Ukraine is in constant touch with Indian students and will ensure their safety and security. The officials further stated that in case of an emergency the Indian Embassy is fully prepared to evacuate every Indian student and fly them back to India.

This Indian Embassy in Ukraine’s advisory on Tuesday stated that “The Embassy officials are continuously engaged with respective authorities for streamlining of the education process for Indian students”.
The Indian embassy officials further suggested that students should leave the country temporarily and not wait for an official communication from their universities. The Indian students looking to fly back to India amid tensions between two countries Russia and Ukraine are required to approach the Indian Embassy officials immediately for completing the formalities and fly back to their home country.
