Government to develop more digital universities and centres of excellence in all the urban areas across the country. The Union Minister for Finance, Government of India announced the Union Budget 2022 held on 01.02.2022.
The move has been announced to give an impetus to the education sector that had a hard hit due to the pandemic. Further the Union Budget focussed more on providing access to students in the remote parts of the country. The Budget 2022 also announced that the current PM’s e-Vidya Scheme will be given more focus with the launch of Digital Universities across the country.
The government also made some other key announcements in the Education Budget 2022
The Agriculture University syllabus will be revised and will be focused to accommodate the concepts of organic farming and modern-day agriculture
Under “One Class One Tv Channel” initiative over 200 channels in different languages will be launched to facilitate PM’s e-Vidya scheme and to provide supplementary learning for all classes 1 to 12 in regional languages
Digital University will be developed and launched to provide access to world class quality education to the students
Smoother implementation of NEP 2020 with impetus on developing skill centric programs
Launch of Digital DESH e-portal for skilling, upskilling & reskilling of our youth
Development of quality E-content with the collaboration of teachers and also give focus to use better e-teaching outcomes
The Government set up 5 Centres of Excellence in the urban areas. Each Centre of Excellence to receive Rs. 250 crores for Urban Planning courses
The Academic Institutes will be encouraged and supported for Research and Development within the ambit of Defence Budget.
