Department of Pre-University of Karnataka to Approach IIM-Ahmedabad for quality education

The Department of PU education (DPUE) Government of Karnataka has tied up with Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, to improve the quality of education in Karnataka. Nearly, 30 lecturers have attended the workshop with IIM-A faculty on 25th January 2022 and  26th January 2022. The participants discussed finding out the problems faced by them at the grassroots level. 

The workshop was named as “Reforming school systems” and selected lecturers and principals participated in the workshop to discuss multiple issues and solutions required to tackle them. Many of the participants have given many suggestions like refresher courses, in-service training for principals and lecturers, multi-level monitoring system, use of technology, etc. The suggestions like regular assessment of students, reducing the teacher-students ratio, in colleges and use of technology in teaching etc were some of the strong points on the agenda of the workshop.

The officials from the Department of Pre-University Government of Karnataka stated that the IIM-Ahmedabad  will help us implement the key points that were part of the discussion at the workshop. They stated that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed in coming days with IIM-A to conduct regular workshops on challenges faced in providing quality education and addressing them with the help of experts from IIM-Ahmedabad.
