Msc Genetics (Master of Science in Genetics)
The course focuses on the application of biotechnology and microbiology in the genes, expression of genes, genetic variation, gene pool, structure and function of genes, and heredity of animals, plants, and human beings. It includes the theories and concepts related to gene behavior, function, traits, location, variety, mutation, and applications in research. It is an interdisciplinary subject that involves cell biology, biostatistics, microbial genetics and technology, population genetics, gene development, genome organization, biochemistry, and DNA technology. Topics related to molecular structure and function of genes, gene behavior, genetic dominance, epigenetics, inheritance, gene distribution, and variation and change in populations are covered during the course. Candidates will have diverse knowledge about the characteristics, features, properties, and applications of genetic information after successful completion of the course. Skills like analytical reasoning, research planning, decision-making, drawing, and presentation are enhanced through various seminars, lectures, practical sessions, and workshops included in this course.
