MSc Chemistry (Master of Science in Chemistry)
The field of chemistry is basically divided into three types, such as general, analytical and organic chemistry. The students can specialise in their desired branch of chemistry. The M.Sc Chemistry students are trained in-depth about various techniques involved in chemical reactions that occur in the substances. The M.Sc Chemistry degree gives a solid base for higher degree programmes like M.Phil or Ph.D.
What Skills does a M.Sc Chemistry student develop?
The course emphasises the theory and practical aspects of the fundamentals of chemistry and includes theories and concepts of atomic structure, chemical bonding, thermodynamics, coordination chemistry, quantum mechanics, spectroscopy, and chemical analysis.
It covers subjects like properties and composition of matter and their interactions. Important topics include general and physical chemistry, inorganic and organic chemistry, biochemistry, electrochemistry, structure and function of polymers, and chemistry of synthetic drugs.
The M.Sc Chemistry students will have diverse knowledge about the multiple branches of chemistry, including physical, inorganic, organic and analytical chemistry. Problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical thinking and logical skills are enhanced through this course. This subject has multiple opportunities in research and technology.
