Admission Process

Admission criteria:

For the students seeking admission for MBBS Programme in Kempegowda Institute of Medical Science (KIMS), the criteria are – 

  • Passed in 12th examination (or equivalent) with 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English subjects from a recognized University.
  • Age of the candidate should be 17 years as on 31st December of the admission year.
  • It is mandatory for the student to qualify NEET UG exam. M S Ramaiah Medical College

For the students seeking admission for MD/MS Programme in Kempegowda Institute of Medical Science (KIMS), the criteria are – 

  • Completed MBBS with 50% aggregate from a University recognized by the MCI. 
  • One-year compulsory internship from any medical college or hospital recognized by the MCI.
  • It is mandatory for a student to qualify NEET PG exam.

As the college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science (RGUHS), the admission process is conducted through Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) Counselling:

  • The students who intend to join for the Merit seats under Government (Karnataka domicile holder), Private, NRI, or Other Quota Seats can apply through KEA Counselling by Karnataka Examinations Authority. Students have to complete the counselling procedures to join the MBBS, MD/MS programmes of their desired colleges.

  • Students looking for 15% All India Quota seats can apply for MCC Counselling by the Medical Counselling Committee. Students have to undergo MCC procedures to join the MBBS, MD/MS programmes of their desired colleges.

MBBS:-

It is mandatory for a student to qualify NEET UG exam and enroll in KEA once the applications are open. It is compulsory for a student to undergo all the procedures in KEA Counselling process till the end to avail their seats according to the ranking of the student in NEET UG in the preferred quota (if eligible).

Process involved in KEA Counselling – 1st Round Counseling, 2nd Round Counselling, Mop Up Round (1 or 2 according to the vacant seats), this process involves:

  • Online Registration
  • Verification of Documents 
  • Choice Entry 
  • Mock Allotment 
  • Actual Allotment 

Documents required for Document Verification Process:  

Admission is open to all UG NEET qualified candidates except NRI/PIO/OCI and Foreign National. Original documents to be produced are –  

  • The final print out of the Online Registration Form. 
  • Original Copy of the Challan for having paid the fees. 
  • UG NEET Admission Ticket and UG NEET Score Card 
  • Any valid Identity Card (Driving License/Voter ID/Passport/PAN/Aadhar Card)
  • SSLC/10th Standard Marks Card
  • 2nd PUC/12th Standard Marks Card
  • 2nd PUC/12th Standard Study Certificate issued by concerned college with seal and signature of Principal
  • Two recent passport size photographs.
  • If the candidate is applying as Minority Status, required documents should be produced.

  • NEET PG 2020’ Admit Card & Score Card issued by NBE for Medical & Dental courses.
  • SSLC/10th Standard Marks Card/equivalent Marks Card (For date of birth).
  • 2nd PUC/12th Standard Marks Card.
  • MBBS/BDS Marks Card issued by Universities of all semesters/years.
  • Qualifying Degree Certificate.
  • Provisional Degree Certificate - only to those who have passed MBBS/BDS during 2019.
  • Certificate of internship completion in (Annexure 5) for candidates who have already completed internship. (Provisional internship completion certificate will be accepted for candidates completing their internship by 31st March 2020, only for 1st round of counselling in Annexure 6).
  • Certificate from the head of institute certifying that the Medical/Dental College from which the candidate has passed MBBS/BDS examination is recognized by MCI/DCI.
  • State/Central Medical/Dental Council Registration Certificate. [Provisional registration certificate will be accepted only for the candidates who have passed MBBS/BDS during 2019. Permanent State/Central Medical/Dental Council Registration Certificate to be compulsorily submitted at the time of admission process. (Candidates who have passed prior to 2019, should compulsory possess the Original Permanent Registration certificate and upload the same)]
