Nursing and Pharmacy are two major and popular choices among the students of the undergraduate degree that can be chosen other than MBBS and BDS courses after their PUC or Class 12th. Pharmacy  basically deals with the study of preparation of drugs, while nursing is more about caring and patient treatment etc. Both the fields offer equal career opportunities for the students.

Pharmacy and Nursing: Course Overview

Pharmacy

  • The main aim of the pharmacy courses is to train the students about the various drugs and their formulations. 
  • The pharmacy field has different courses right from diploma to doctorate levels
  • The pharmacy has D.Pharma (diploma level), B.Pharma (undergraduate level), M.Pharma (post graduate level), Pharm D( Doctorate level). 
  • The students have the opportunity to take up the course either in the diploma level or at the undergraduate level

Nursing

  • The main objective of the nursing field is to develop the competency in knowledge and skills required to become a successful nurse. 
  • The nursing field is very diverse with multiple levels of education: GNM (diploma level), B.Sc Nursing (undergraduate level), Post Basic (graduate level), M.Sc Nursing (post graduate level)
  • The students have opportunities to take up nursing either in diploma level or in undergraduate level
  • The nursing field provides a comprehensive understanding of nursing care, patient care and patient treatment and also some of the skills related to problem-solving among the students. 
  • The nursing field also trains the students to become compassionate individuals and work in individual homes, hospitals and communities and promote a healthier society.
