How to balance the NEET UG 2024 tutoring and self-study effectively?

How to balance the NEET UG 2024 tutoring and self-study effectively?
Updated at:  03/02/2025

The Dilemma of Coaching and Self-Study

The equation of coaching:

  • Systematized Learning Experience- Coaching institutes make sure that the syllabus is covered systematically.
  • Right Guidance- Students are guided by experienced faculties throughout the course journey. The teachers always help students to solve their queries and give valuable insight.
  • Offline Classroom Interaction- Offline class interaction allows you to understand where you stand in your preparation. This promotes healthy competition and leads to mental satisfaction.

The equation of Self-Study:

  • In-depth understanding of the concepts- Self-study allows you to study the topic in depth which helps grasp the topic to the core.
  • Personalized Schedule- You decide what to study and when to study. A flexible schedule gives you the freedom to choose the study timing.
  •  Review and Correction- Topics can be revised, reviewed and corrected daily at your own pace.

How to Balance both?

  • Be a student who attends class regularly: Regular attendance of classes helps you to stay updated with the syllabus. You can clear your doubts every day.
  • Make sure to study the same topics that are taught in the coaching at home. This will help you to simultaneously revise the topic in depth.
  • Taking mock tests regularly will help you to know where you stand in the crowd.
  •  Both a winner and a loser have a 24-hours clock. The factor that will set you apart from your counterpart is effective time management.
  • The most important thing that has to be kept in mind while preparing for any competitive exam is to stay away from distractions.
  • Plan for the day as well as the next day in advance. This will help you to manage time effectively.

Approach for NEET UG 2024

  • Figure out your grey area and work on it every day. E.g. if physics is your weak area make sure you practice physics MCQ daily.
  •  Previous year’s questions are the key. Revise the PYQ to know the nitty-gritty of the exam.
  • Set a daily target and make sure you achieve it. This will give you mental satisfaction. Only achievable targets should be set for every day.
  • Make a proper timetable and stick to it.
  • Limited resources are the key. Stick to limited study material that makes your life easy.
  • Make sure you revise the previous topics before starting a new topic.
  • Be disciplined, be consistent and do the smart work.

The Final Lines

NEET-UG is one of the toughest exams in India. The exam becomes tough because of the number of students that appear in the exam. Hence, only proper planning and discipline will help you to crack the exam. Therefore just give your best and leave the rest.
