COMEDK or Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka conducts common Entrance Exam for various undergraduate professional courses like engineering and technology courses offered by various private educational institutes in Karnataka.
Previously COMEDK exam was conducted even for medical and dental seats but now it is replaced by NEET Exam. So, the COMEDK exam is now only conducted for the professional courses of engineering and technology.
What is COMED-K?
Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) is an independent body registered under government of Karnataka for conducting COMED-K Entrance Exam. The COMEDK has been assigned the task of organising a common entrance test every year for admissions to engineering and technology courses in different private colleges (member institutes) under COMED-K.
The COMEDK entrance test & publication of test score and rank list will be followed by centralized counselling (Single window system). The students can get admissions professional courses in all the private engineering colleges that are the members of COMED-K based on their COMED-K rankings.
What is the COMED-K Exam?
The COMED-K Exam is a state level exam of Karnataka State for admissions to different professional courses in colleges of Karnataka. The students looking for admissions to different B.Tech/BE specialisations offered in member private institutions are required to take up the COMED-K exams. The COMED-K Exam will be conducted once in a year.
The COMEDK Exam consists of the following:
- The questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
- Each question carries one mark and paper will be of 180 marks
- Total time for exam is 180 minutes and there is No Negative Marking for wrong answers
- The COMED-K is conducted in Computer Based (Online Mode) in designated exam centres across Karnataka
Eligibility
The students who have completed their PUC or 10+2 in any stream and who are interested to join professional courses offered by the private colleges of Karnataka should apply for the COMEDK exam.
Age Limit and No of Attempts for COMEDK Exam
The students appearing for the COMEDK Exam should have completed a minimum 17 years of age at the time of admissions. The upper age limit is 25 years for General Category students and 30 years for OBC/SC/ST Category students. There is No restriction on the number of attempts for the COMEDK exam.
