What are International Studies?

International Studies generally refers to the specific university degrees and courses which are concerned with the study of the major political, economic, social and cultural issues that dominate the international agenda.

MA International Studies is a 2-years post graduate course that is divided into 4 semesters. The course equips students with critical and analytical skills to prepare them for a range of professions that requires international affairs and to understand contemporary international politics. The course covers the study of globalisation, international political economy, theories of international relations, democracies, Asia-Pacific and Northeast Politics, international organisations, global environmental politics, international security and a process of state formation.

Eligibility for MA International Studies

The students who have completed their undergraduate degree in any stream with 50% aggregate from recognised university are eligible to apply for MA International Studies.

Admission Procedures

The students with relevant qualifications can join the MA International Studies course by two modes. The first one is Merit based admission and the second one is direct admission. Let’s discuss in detail

1. Merit Admission

There are many top educational institutes that conduct entrance exams for the MA International Studies course. This mode is called merit admission mode. The entrance exams are conducted to select the serious and hardworking students from the group of non-serious candidates to the available limited number of seats in the colleges. The students have to apply and clear these entrance exams for merit-seats. 2. Direct Admission
