A few lines about Civil Engineering
Civil Engineering is one of the oldest engineering disciplines that deals with the building constructions field. The field dates back to the first time when someone placed a roof over his or her head or laid a tree trunk across a river to make it easier to get across.
Civil Engineering is an exciting profession for the job satisfaction it offers. This is because, at the end of the day one can see the results of his/her work, either it may be a completed bridge or a high-rise building, a subway station or a hydroelectric dam. Civil engineers always enjoy a sense of satisfaction because they are the main persons who can build houses and bring smiles in the faces of many people.
Introduction to B.Tech/BE Civil Engineering (Infrastructure Management)
The B.Tech/BE Civil Engineering (Infrastructure Management) is an undergraduate course that is divided into 8-semesters. The course deals with the study of different topics related to the construction industry especially in infrastructure development such as basic steel design, construction Project Management, Geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, structural analysis, etc.
The course provides special emphasis on needs of urban transportation development of urban infrastructure such as roads, bridges, underpass and metro rail structures. Apart from the above specialised subject, it also gives due attention to issues of sustainable civil engineering solutions, considering environment and societal impacts.
