What is Performing Arts?

The performing arts include dance, music and theatre. Many performing artists use their bodies, voices and talents as means of artistic expressions. They include singers, actors, comedians and dancers. The performing arts refers to art that is performed before an audience. Professionals usually focus on one aspect of art such as drama, dance or music. Others possessing craftsmanship or technical skills often fill supporting roles such as set designers or sound technicians.

Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA) is a 3-years undergraduate course that is divided into 6- semesters. The course covers various aspects of music, dance and other art forms. The course provides attention towards music, dance practices and drama or as whole provides specialisation. The course preaches the artists work in the form of music, drama and dance practices. The course provides the best lessons and specialisations in music, dance practices and drama and anyone with interest in these forms of performance arts can opt for the course.

Eligibility for Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA)

The students who have completed their PUC or 10+2 in any stream from recognised board are eligible to apply for Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA) course.

Admission Procedures

The students with relevant qualifications can join the Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA) course by two modes. The first one is Merit based admission and the second one is direct admission. Let’s discuss in detail

1. Merit Admission

There are some reputed educational institutes that conduct entrance exams for the Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA) course. This mode is called merit admission mode. The entrance exams are conducted to select the serious and hardworking students from the group of non-serious candidates for the limited number of seats in the colleges. The qualified students are allotted the merit seats and are given admission, the fees are fairly nominal for merit admissions.

2. Direct Admission

The students have another option of getting admission to Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA) course by direct admission process. Under this mode of admission, the students are given direct admission to their desired colleges under management quota. The main advantage of direct admissions is that the students are not required to appear for any entrance exams for getting admissions. Another advantage is that they can choose their desired colleges and book their seats in advance even before the starting of the academic year. The students who are interested in direct admissions are required to contact Educational Advisory centres for more details.
