SCMS MBA College Cochin
The two-year Masters in Business Administration are offered by the SCMS School of Technology and Management and are affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University. The programme helps students to develop the necessary skills required in the corporate sector like dealing with people, groups, managing resources, and other responsibilities. The program emphasizes on the overall development of the individual so that the person grows emotionally socially and cognitively. This will help in enhancing problem-solving ability, decision-making process, interpersonal and interpersonal skills and also communication skills. These will be effective in building up the individual’s self-confidence and the student will foster in them all the qualities of a leader or a manager.
The MBA course
The course is a 2-year programme consisting of four semesters with detectives and specialization. The electives include Marketing Management, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Information System, Operations Management, and International Business. The specialization areas include Marketing, Finance, Information Systems, and Human Resource Management.
Minimum of 20 students must be there to for a particular elective to be offered by the college. Each semester ends with a written examination of 60 marks. The candidate must bring 50%marks in each of the semesters but if he falls to secure the required marks in a particular semester then he may repeat it with the subsequent semester.
50% is the required aggregate to pass the MBA programme. Students securing more than 60% pass MBA in First Class and a student securing more than 80% is said to have passed MBA with a distinction. Also, 75% attendance is necessary at the end of each semester. Failing to do so the student will be barred from sitting for that semester exam.
Eligibility and admission
The students who are eligible for the course are any candidate who has cleared bachelors degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate. The student should pass from any acknowledged university from Mahatma Gandhi University. The candidates will then have to sit for the entrance exams which they will have to clear for taking admission to the MBA course. The candidates who will clear the entrance test will then be called for group discussion and interview. Candidates of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe will have to pass in any discipline to apply to the MBA course.
Application procedure
The application form needs to be filled up by the last date as given by the college. Students applying after the prescribed date or submitting the incomplete application form will not be accepted. The documents required for filling up the form are class 10 and 12 mark sheet, school leaving certificate, mark sheet of bachelor's degree and a qualifying degree certificate. All these should be attested. Then a registration fee of RS 1000 is to be paid. A stamp size photograph and a photocopy of entrance exam score card are required for taking admission to MBA in Bangalore.
Faculty members and other facilities
The faculty members include professors, assistant professors and other lecturers who give their best to teach the students and make them ready to rule the corporate sectors. The teachers not only teach what's there in the syllabus but to help children gain more knowledge they are taught topics that are beyond the syllabus.
